Performance Boffers are basic foam bats without the fantastical shape of a carved foam plastidip weapon, but with top-notch materials and simple designs making them the lightest, fastest, most comfortable and efficient foam weapons I can produce. They are also significantly less expensive than the carved foam boffers.
Features:
- Graphite or epoxy resin cores make them light and rigid with minimal weight and flexibility.
- Bamboo cores also available for higher weight, and increased durability.
- Roughly 20″-40″ in total length. Can be made in “shorts” or “longs”
- 2 Inch diameter Frost King blade for Alliance LARP, or 3 inch diameter Frost King blade for AMTGard, Jugger Pompfen, or a more padded bat.
- Thrusting Tips with firm, soft, or extra squishy padding.

- Durable sport pommels for comfortable pommel-fighting and easy re-taping/maintenance.

3… 2… 1… JUGGER!
Jugger is a boffer combat sport played all over the world. Inspired by the game played in the 1989 German post-apocalyptic film “The Salute of The Jugger” (released as “The Blood of Heroes” in the United States).
It is most prevalent in Europe and Australia, but there are a number of skilled US teams as well.
Because of it’s German conceptual origins, and to avoid throwing around the word “weapons” when seeking things like field reservations, the sport traditionally refers to boffers by their German name: Pompfen.
Jugger Pompfen are made very similarly to the way AMTGard might make their weapons, with the 3″ diameter foam blade, however the specific forms and shapes of the weapons, as well as lengths of blade and grip, are strictly regulated.
The Jugger Pompfen from The Fire Thieves Studio meet those specifications, as well as being as light, durable, and as comfortable to wield as any of my other Performance Boffers.
